How old is your dog in human years? It depends on size: big dogs age faster than small ones. Enter your dog's age and size for an estimate.
How the estimate works
The old "multiply by 7" rule isn't quite right. Dogs grow up fast: a 1-year-old dog is roughly like a 15-year-old person, and a 2-year-old like a 24-year-old. After that, each year adds about 4 human years for small dogs, 5 for medium, 6 for large and 7 for giant breeds.
When is a dog a senior?
Larger dogs reach their senior years sooner. As a rough guide, giant breeds are seniors around 6, large dogs around 7, medium dogs around 8 and small dogs around 10.
